Accessibility Statement
Last updated November 4, 2026
Nilewright is committed to making nilewright.com, our client portal and the websites we build usable by everyone, including people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, have motor, cognitive or learning disabilities, or use assistive technology such as screen readers, voice control, switch devices, keyboard-only navigation or screen magnification.
1. Our standard
We design, build and test to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). This is the standard referenced by U.S. courts and agencies in applying the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to websites, and by many state laws.
2. What we do
- Readable: text and controls meet contrast requirements, text can be resized to 200% without loss of content, and layouts reflow on small screens without horizontal scrolling.
- Keyboard friendly: everything can be used with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link.
- Understandable to assistive technology: meaningful headings, landmarks and labels; form fields have visible labels and clear error messages; images have text alternatives, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Motion with care: animations are gentle, nothing flashes more than three times per second, and animation and video backgrounds stop when your device is set to reduce motion.
- Media: videos with speech have captions; background videos have no sound.
- Touch targets: buttons and links are large enough to tap easily.
- Time: sign-in sessions don’t time out while you’re filling in forms.
- Language: pages declare their language, including our Amharic pages, so screen readers pronounce them correctly.
3. How we test
Before launch, each page is checked with automated accessibility tools and by hand: keyboard-only use, screen readers (VoiceOver on Mac and iPhone, and NVDA on Windows), zoom and reflow, color contrast and reduced-motion settings. We re-check pages when they change and review our own sites regularly.
4. Conformance status and known limitations
We aim for full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance and fix issues as soon as we find them. Some third-party content, such as embedded maps, booking or ordering widgets, or social media posts, is controlled by other companies and may not fully conform; where that happens, we provide an accessible alternative such as a text address, phone number or direct link. Older files, such as PDFs supplied by a client, may not be fully accessible; we can provide the information in another format on request.
5. Websites we build for clients
Every client website is built to the same standard. Clients control the content they add later (for example, photos and announcements), so we remind them to add descriptions to images and give them simple guidance. If you find a barrier on a website we built, you can contact the business or us, and we will help fix it.
6. Feedback and help
If anything is hard to use, or you need information in another format (such as large print, plain text, or a phone call), please email hello@nilewright.com and tell us the page and the problem. We aim to respond within two business days, and we will get you the information you need in the meantime. You can also ask for help in Amharic.
